Pieces Of Color has become my personal statement because I feel that's what my paintings are about. I believe color is actually individual light and I feel that we express a lot about ourselves through the use of color. I love to paint from real life, although I sometimes do work from photos. I love the exciting, and sometimes subtle nuances of light and color that dance through and around what we see. Seeing becomes almost as exciting as painiting. It is the visual experience that I enjoy. Although I spent many years attending art classes at several universities and workshops in and around Northern California, my greatest joy was having the privilege to work as an apprentice with a master painter and teacher. Michael Linstrom is a well known Bay area artist and teacher. We shared a school in the foot hills of the Sierras for 4 years.
